Coloured stretch ceilings: a durable solution for all your spaces

Why choose a coloured stretch ceiling?

A colored stretch ceiling adds character to your interior by covering the ceiling with a fabric in the color of your choice.

Aesthetics and customization

Choosing a colored stretch ceiling means opting for creative, personalized decoration. With a range of 55 shades to choose from, you can create a customized ambience that's as elegant or bold as your style.

Ceiling color becomes a real decorative asset, capable of transforming the atmosphere of a room. Studies in color psychology show that hues influence atmosphere and mood. You can stimulate a dynamic atmosphere in a meeting room, or soothe the mood of a bedroom.

Another advantage: the perfectly smooth finish of stretch ceilings. The fabric masks any defects or irregularities in the existing ceiling, for a flawless finish, free of cracks or marks. Thanks to their fine, high-quality polyester weave, ALYOS® fabrics guarantee an even surface, even over large areas.

Finishes and performance

In addition to the choice of color, stretch ceilings come in several finishes to refine the visual effect. You can opt for a matte, satin or lacquered finish, depending on the desired ambience.

Special effects are also available:

- Sequined stretch ceilings, for festive atmospheres
- Printed stretch ceilings, which integrate a motif or personalized visual in high definition.

These finishes offer a vast palette for designing a truly unique ceiling.

On the technical side, ALYOS® stretch ceilings are distinguished by their high performance. The fabrics are made from polyurethane-coated polyester mesh: a tough, washable, durable material that won't sag.

Their lifespan generally exceeds 20 years (even 30 years for technical membranes).

They comply with the most stringent standards: fire classification B-s1,d0, CE marking, and A+ label for indoor air quality.

Finally, the fabrics are water-repellent and washable. You can install them in damp rooms such as kitchens and bathrooms.

Acoustic and backlit options

Colored stretch ceilings can fulfill other technical functions thanks to specific fabrics developed by ALYOS®.

Acoustics

Some fabrics are micro-perforated to correct room acoustics. Combined with an absorber placed behind the fabric, they achieve Class A acoustic performance, while maintaining a neat aesthetic appearance. Available in a wide range of colors, these acoustic fabrics are particularly suitable for noise-sensitive areas such as restaurants, offices and meeting rooms.

Backlighting

Another option is to transform the ceiling into a luminous surface using a translucent fabric stretched in front of an integrated LED system. The light is diffused evenly, with no shadows, for soft, modern lighting.

ALYOS diffusing fabrics provide up to 500 lux, with dimmable dimming to suit the desired ambience. These luminous ceilings, installed cold like the others, retain their resistance and maintenance qualities, even in wet rooms. ALYOS® can also be combined with other options: acoustic + color, translucent + printed, etc.

How to choose the right color and finish?

Depending on the room

To choose the right color for your stretch ceiling, you need to take into account the room in question and the desired effect. Each color influences the perception of space and is more or less suitable for certain uses.

- Warm colors (yellow, orange, red): dynamic, warm ambience. For living rooms, kitchens or dining rooms.

- Cool colors (blue, green, gray): soothing effect and impression of space. For bedrooms or bathrooms.

- Light shades: visually enlarge small rooms or rooms with little light.

- Dark colors: accentuate the design and create a hushed atmosphere in large spaces.

Finish and rendering

The choice of fabric finish is just as important as the color, as it influences the visual appearance of the ceiling. ALYOS® stretch ceilings are available in different finishes: matte, satin or lacquered (gloss). Each offers its own particular rendering.

- A matt finish diffuses light and creates a soft, traditional ceiling atmosphere.

- A high-gloss lacquer finish reflects light and visually enlarges the space with a modern mirror effect.

- Satin provides a balance: brighter than matte, but without excess shine.

How much does a coloured stretch ceiling cost?

Price per m² for canvas only

The price of a colored stretch ceiling can vary according to the fabric material and the options chosen. For the fabric alone (excluding installation), prices generally fall within the following ranges:

- PVC stretch ceilings (vinyl fabric, hot-melt system): approx. €20 to €70 per m². This is the most economical version.

- Polyester stretch ceiling (coated textile fabric, cold laid): approx. €40 to €80 per m². Polyester, the material favored by ALYOS, is a little more expensive because of its superior qualities (easier to install without heating, can be painted or printed on, better hold).

These price ranges correspond to standard plain canvases. Special options may increase them.

Cost with installation and finishing

The cost of installing a stretch ceiling is usually between €20 and €50/m², depending on the complexity of the job. The more angles, cut-outs, spotlights or difficult access the room has, the higher the cost.

For a complete project, including fabric, installation and finishing, the average cost is between €70 and €120/m². This price includes the custom-made fabric, fastening profiles, tensioning and any necessary adjustments.

Specific elements can increase the price: the integration of LED lighting, the addition of acoustic or thermal insulation in the plenum, or complex shapes that require more intervention time.

Steps for installing your color stretch ceiling

Installing a stretch ceiling is quick, clean and requires no major work. Installation follows a precise protocol, perfectly mastered by ALYOS®-certified professionals.

Step 1: Measurements and preparation

The professional records the exact dimensions of the piece (length, width, diagonals). The fabric is then made to measure, with precision. At the same time, the room is prepared: furniture is protected, and levels are marked out to ensure a level installation, even in the case of irregularities in the existing ceiling.

Step 2: Installing the profiles

Discreet aluminum or composite profiles are attached all around the walls. These rails are used to tension the fabric. Their slimness (around 10 mm) makes them virtually invisible once the ceiling has been installed. They adapt to any shape, even complex angles or curves.

Step 3: Laying the canvas

The colored fabric, made to exact dimensions, is deployed in the room. It is gradually inserted into the profiles using a special spatula. At ALYOS®, installation is carried out cold (without a heating gun), which avoids any emissions and makes the job site safer and healthier.

Step 4: Final tensioning and finishing

The installer checks the tension of the fabric for a perfectly smooth finish. He makes the necessary cut-outs for spotlights, VMC vents or other equipment. Finishing touches are neat and tidy: edges are trimmed and excess trimmed cleanly. As soon as installation is complete, the ceiling is ready for use, with no drying, dust or residue.
