Acoustic and backlit options
Colored stretch ceilings can fulfill other technical functions thanks to specific fabrics developed by ALYOS®.
Acoustics
Some fabrics are micro-perforated to correct room acoustics. Combined with an absorber placed behind the fabric, they achieve Class A acoustic performance, while maintaining a neat aesthetic appearance. Available in a wide range of colors, these acoustic fabrics are particularly suitable for noise-sensitive areas such as restaurants, offices and meeting rooms.
Backlighting
Another option is to transform the ceiling into a luminous surface using a translucent fabric stretched in front of an integrated LED system. The light is diffused evenly, with no shadows, for soft, modern lighting.
ALYOS diffusing fabrics provide up to 500 lux, with dimmable dimming to suit the desired ambience. These luminous ceilings, installed cold like the others, retain their resistance and maintenance qualities, even in wet rooms. ALYOS® can also be combined with other options: acoustic + color, translucent + printed, etc.
How to choose the right color and finish?
Depending on the room
To choose the right color for your stretch ceiling, you need to take into account the room in question and the desired effect. Each color influences the perception of space and is more or less suitable for certain uses.
- Warm colors (yellow, orange, red): dynamic, warm ambience. For living rooms, kitchens or dining rooms.
- Cool colors (blue, green, gray): soothing effect and impression of space. For bedrooms or bathrooms.
- Light shades: visually enlarge small rooms or rooms with little light.
- Dark colors: accentuate the design and create a hushed atmosphere in large spaces.
Finish and rendering
The choice of fabric finish is just as important as the color, as it influences the visual appearance of the ceiling. ALYOS® stretch ceilings are available in different finishes: matte, satin or lacquered (gloss). Each offers its own particular rendering.
- A matt finish diffuses light and creates a soft, traditional ceiling atmosphere.
- A high-gloss lacquer finish reflects light and visually enlarges the space with a modern mirror effect.
- Satin provides a balance: brighter than matte, but without excess shine.
How much does a coloured stretch ceiling cost?
Price per m² for canvas only
The price of a colored stretch ceiling can vary according to the fabric material and the options chosen. For the fabric alone (excluding installation), prices generally fall within the following ranges:
- PVC stretch ceilings (vinyl fabric, hot-melt system): approx. €20 to €70 per m². This is the most economical version.
- Polyester stretch ceiling (coated textile fabric, cold laid): approx. €40 to €80 per m². Polyester, the material favored by ALYOS, is a little more expensive because of its superior qualities (easier to install without heating, can be painted or printed on, better hold).
These price ranges correspond to standard plain canvases. Special options may increase them.
Cost with installation and finishing
The cost of installing a stretch ceiling is usually between €20 and €50/m², depending on the complexity of the job. The more angles, cut-outs, spotlights or difficult access the room has, the higher the cost.
For a complete project, including fabric, installation and finishing, the average cost is between €70 and €120/m². This price includes the custom-made fabric, fastening profiles, tensioning and any necessary adjustments.
Specific elements can increase the price: the integration of LED lighting, the addition of acoustic or thermal insulation in the plenum, or complex shapes that require more intervention time.
