As part of the renovation of a university reception hall in Lyon, a major challenge arose: ensuring optimal acoustic comfort in a large space with reflective surfaces, which is naturally prone to significant sound reverberation.

To address this issue, ALYOS® has designed and implemented a comprehensive acoustic solution that combines technical performance with architectural integration.

A 21-by-5-meter acoustic stretch ceiling made of plain fabric was installed on an acoustic substrate, precisely following the architecture of the space. This solution significantly reduces reverberation and improves sound clarity, which is essential in a space designed to host events and group discussions.

In addition, eight acoustic panels made of printed fabric have been incorporated into the walls. Their graphic design, tailored to the venue’s identity, serves both to improve acoustics and enhance the room’s aesthetic appeal.

The entire system profoundly transforms the perception of space: voices are clearer, ambient noise is controlled, and user comfort is significantly improved.

The reception hall now features a balanced, functional acoustic environment that is well-suited to its academic and event-related uses.
