Acoustic frame: Combining design and sound performance

The acoustics of a space influence much more than auditory comfort: they condition concentration, the fluidity of exchanges and even the perceived image of a place. Acoustic frames offer an elegant response to this need, combining tailor-made aesthetics with effective noise absorption. This guide explores how they work, their concrete benefits and the solutions offered by ALYOS® to improve the sound comfort of your spaces over the long term.

What are the benefits for your professional and residential spaces?

Acoustic frames provide concrete, targeted solutions to noise problems, whether in the workplace or a private interior.

Improving sound ambience in professional environments

An acoustic frame is more than just a decorative object: it's an effective acoustic solution, designed to meet the demands of noisy environments. In companies, they help reduce noise pollution in shared workspaces, open spaces or meeting rooms. The result: improved concentration, a quieter atmosphere and reduced cognitive fatigue.

Enhancing public spaces

In areas open to the public (shops, restaurants, hotels), the installation of a decorative acoustic frame immediately enhances the customer experience, while integrating into an elegant wall decoration.

Acoustic comfort at home

For private customers, the benefits are just as tangible: greater acoustic comfort in the living room, kitchen or bedroom exposed to noise.

Adaptable formats for complex configurations

These frames can also be used in bespoke configurations, as suspended baffles, wall mounts or light partitions. Their complete customizability (format, fabric, pattern, color) makes them a real interior design tool.

     - Professionals: concentration, comfort, perceived quality, compliance with sound insulation standards (ERP)
- Individuals: hearing comfort at home, aesthetics, discreet solution to echo
- Specifiers: architectural freedom, easy integration into new or renovation projects

In certain technical areas (blind offices, open halls, high spaces), it's a good idea to combine these devices with an acoustic wall to deal with overall sound reverberation.

How does an acoustic frame work?

Here's how acoustic frames adapt to every need.

Absorbent materials designed to capture sound waves

An acoustic frame acts on sound propagation by absorbing part of the waves that come into contact with its surface. This acoustic absorption is based on two key elements: the internal filling, often made of open-cell acoustic foam or acoustic felt, and the stretched acoustic fabric that covers the whole.

Combining aesthetics and performance in high-resonance rooms

In certain configurations, these devices are combined with a spangled stretch wall tooptimize noise management in highly resonant rooms, while maintaining aesthetic coherence. Together, these materials reduce reverberation and dampen echoes, in an assertive acoustic design approach.

Adapt the shape of the frame to the frequencies to be processed

Depending on the model, they can be used for several purposes:
- Voice reduction in offices or open spaces
- Impact noise attenuation in meeting rooms, corridors or ERP
- Ambient sound filtering in open or semi-enclosed spaces.

The shape and thickness of the frame directly influence its performance. The deeper it is, the more effectively it handles the low frequencies that are often the most intrusive. Many models are designed to target a wide spectrum of sounds (human voices, impact noise, background sounds) in a variety of spaces.

The effectiveness of the device also depends on its positioning in the room. Installing the frame as close as possible to areas of reflection (back of a desk, facing a source of noise) maximizes its effect.

Our customizable acoustic frame models

ALYOS® offers a complete range of customizable frames, to meet the technical, aesthetic and spatial constraints of each project.

A wide range of formats and configurations

Not all projects impose the same aesthetic or acoustic constraints. That's why ALYOS® frames come in a wide variety of formats, finishes and configurations. For spaces where conventional wall treatment is limited, they combine perfectly with a stretched fabric wall, creating a homogeneous, visually absorbent whole.

Fully customized to your needs

Each frame can be made to measure, depending on a number of factors:
- dimensions (standard or large format)
- fabric (acoustic, fine mesh, backlit)
- printed or plain canvas (with matte, satin or glitter finish)
- type of mounting (wall-mounted, suspended, floating baffle)

Prescribers and architects appreciate the creative freedom offered by these devices: their light, modular structure can be integrated into a variety of environments, such as contemporary offices, design hotels, residential spaces and showrooms. The frame thus becomes not only an acoustic design element, but also a lever for visual differentiation.

Last but not least, compatibility with other ALYOS® solutions, such as backlit ceilings or stretch ceilings, means that a room can be treated as a whole, without visual disruption.

Easy installation and maintenance

ALYOS® frames are designed for easy, non-invasive installation, and to last the test of time, thanks to reliable, lightweight materials.

Quick to install, with no major work required

Thanks to their lightweight aluminum structure and cold-tensioning system, ALYOS® frames can be installed without any major work or damage to existing supports. Combined with a stretch ceiling, they create a coherent acoustic ambience, without weighing down the room or detracting from the overall aesthetic.

Options to suit every configuration

Installation is fast, clean and adaptable to any professional or residential environment. Depending on requirements, several mounting options are available:
- classic wall mounting
- suspended frame for floating acoustic ceilings
- integration into a movable partition or partition panel

Easy maintenance for a sustainable future

Maintenance is just as simple: regular dusting is all that's needed, and some models allow easy replacement of the printed fabric without compromising the frame's soundproofing performance.

Designed with the environment in mind, these modular systems ensure clean, rapid installation and minimize waste. The ALYOS® team supports each configuration with a personalized quotation and careful delivery, whatever the size, the range chosen or the layout of the rooms to be treated.

Answers to your questions

What is the acoustic performance of an ALYOS® frame?

Each frame is designed to achieve a high sound absorption coefficient (up to αw = 1 depending on configuration). Performance is validated by laboratory tests, guaranteeing real effectiveness against noise pollution, including at low frequencies.

In addition to acoustic foam and absorbent felt, some models incorporate technical materials such as mineral wool or biosourced composites based on recycled fibers. The choice of material depends on use, the level of absorption required and the installation environment.

Yes, all the components used in ALYOS® frames comply with the requirements of establishments open to the public (ERP), particularly in terms of reaction to fire (Euroclass B-s1, d0 classification for textiles). This means they can be safely integrated into hotels, restaurants and schools.

Lead times vary according to the configuration chosen and the complexity of the project (number of frames, customization, size...). Each order is individually monitored by the Alyos team.

A decorative acoustic frame, sometimes called an "acoustic picture", is a complete sound absorber: it combines structure, technical materials and acoustic fabric to act on reverberation. On the other hand, a conventional decorative wall panel, even a printed one, generally has no real acoustic effectiveness, as it lacks thickness, density and absorbent structure.

ALYOS® acoustic frames combine interior design, sound performance and ease of installation. Adaptable, aesthetic and effective, they offer a comprehensive response to the challenges of sound comfort in all environments.
